Arthur started playing piano at the age 4. As a young musician, he was
formally trained in Classical Music. He would later play for his church at the
age of 9 and began playing in R&B bands by the age of 13. He performed
throughout the Baltimore-Washington area and after a short while, began traveling up and
down the East Coast. He first performed with The Manhattans when he was 16 years
old. He toured with The Manhattans and other R&B groups until the age of 20. He
left the road to attend University of Md. to pursue a B.S. in Mathematics and
later an M.S. in Computer Engineering and works as a Technical Consultant. When The Manhattans re-grouped in 1991, he was
contacted by Sonny Bivins to put together the band. The rest is history.
